Dr Nihinlola Mabogunje


Dr Nihinlola Mabogunje is a medical doctor with Masters in Public health and has been in leadership positions both in the public and private sectors for over 20 years implementing projects to improve maternal and child health, on malaria elimination, immunization against polio, reproductive health and rights, and nutrition. She is vast in systems strengthening and citizens’ engagement using evidence frameworks for advocacy and accountability. She also led a team that researched on constraints and incentives affecting delivery of social services in Nigeria that resulted in the review of processes of both immigration and road safety. She has worked with several international agencies such as United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Global Fund, MacArthur, Ford Foundation, United Kingdom Department for International Development (DfID), Support to National Malaria Programme II (SuNMaP2 – as team lead), European Union and Anonymous Donors. Early on in her career she served Kano State Government in the capacity of Medical Doctor.

She is a Chevening Alumnae, passionate on gender issues and contributed to the enactment of the Act on Violence Against Persons Prohibition in Nigeria. She is also on the Board of Trustees of some voluntary organizations.
