Kaduna State’s gender-sensitive governance under Governor Uba Sani has earned high praise from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The state’s Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) was singled out for exceptional progress in the Gender Seal Initiative during a high-profile training in Abuja.
The four-day session, hosted at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Training Institute in Durumi, brought together KADIRS, FIRS, and Ondo State IRS. Coordinated by global experts and Nigeria’s UNDP Gender Seal National Coordinator, Ms. Ayintare Abang, the training assessed agencies’ performance in advancing gender equity.
KADIRS stood out for integrating gender inclusion into its operations, achieving Step 3 of the initiative’s milestones. It was lauded as a model for public institutions and encouraged to deepen engagement with stakeholders and civil society to secure higher awards.
“This success reflects Governor Uba Sani’s unwavering commitment to inclusive governance,” noted one of the participants.
Stakeholders said his administration has positioned Kaduna as a trailblazer in gender-sensitive policies, empowering women and promoting equity across sectors.
They also noted that with Uba Sani’s vision, Kaduna State continues to set the pace in equitable governance, solidifying its reputation as a leader in gender inclusion.
