PAS overview of the 2020 Health Budget Performance

In 2020, the sum of ₦447 billion was approved to the health sector. This was subsequently increased to ₦575 billion in the 2020 revised budget due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic to improve healthcare service delivery across the country.  The amount is 5.3% of the total ₦10.81 trillion overall Federal government budget in the year. This is 9.7% less than the 15% recommended by the Abuja declaration.
