KADMAM Develops an Advocacy and Communication Plan for BHCPF

The Kaduna State Accountability Mechanism (KADMAM) with support from the Legislative initiative for Sustainable Development (LISDEL-SPAG Project), developed an advocacy and communication plan to guide the implementation of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) and media advocacy activities in the State.

A two-day workshop was organized on 8th – 9th February 2023, to review the developed communication and advocacy plan.  In attendance were members of the KADMAM team, LISDEL, development partners, and stakeholders working in the State.

In his remark, the Secretary/Co-Chair of KADMAM, Isah Gidado, emphasized the need for a plan to guide advocacies, and foster evidence-based accountability, particularly media campaigns and advocacies to target audiences for improved service delivery in the State.

In her presentation, Eruemolor Abude, the Communication and Online Content Management Specialist for LISDEL, stated that the essence of the BHCPF Media Campaign Plan is to improve awareness and catalyze demand generation by members of the public for BHCPF services, in collaboration with coalition partners, media, and other stakeholders, by leveraging on various media platforms to push and amplify campaign content that will sensitize members of the public about BHCPF leading to increased enrollment of beneficiaries and demand for services by beneficiaries amongst others.

The BHCPF Media Campaign Plan developed by LISDEL and adapted by KADMAM, was well received, with contributions from KADMAM members and other participants integrated into the plan for use in the State.
