Funding partner, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), presented its anti-lobbying policies to staff members, during LISDEL’s SPAG Project Team Orientation and Induction workshop.
At the 2 day workshop, BMGF’s Senior Program Officer emphasized the need to maintain the foundations policy on anti-lobbying practices at all times in the delivery of the SPAG Project.
She took time to answer questions, explain and clarify concepts and misconceptions.
Strengthening Government Partnerships and Advocacy for PHC (SPAG) Project, is an 18 month project being embarked upon by LISDEL, in 3 focal States, with a grant from BMGF. It aims to deliver the following outcomes:
- Improved Government oversight, accountability, and implementation of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) in partnership with Federal Ministry of Health and other government partners.
- Improved Salience and Capacity of policymakers and government stakeholders to effectively influence health systems strengthening efforts including BHCPF.
- Improved inclusion of new voices and champions, particularly women, to drive PHC advocacy priorities within government platforms.
LISDEL is partnering with other stakeholders and CSOs in its focal States on the implementation of the SPAG Project.
