The End SARS protest was significant proof that the relationship between the police and the community is broken. This happened as a result of the cases of police brutality witnessed in different communities in Nigeria over the years where victims had been neglected and the community excluded from taking part in the decision to repair the harm caused. Instead, the State had focused primarily on transgressors (accused police), and the law which was violated.

This justice process is called “Restorative Justice”.
